Is a wedding planner necessary ?
In short – Yes – A wedding planner or at minimum a day of coordinator is 100% necessary for your wedding.
As a bride, you should be relaxed (yes a little nervous of the unknown), but not stressed. If you do not have at minimum a day of coordinator, you will be called a million times on the day of the event by each vendor (DJ, Photo, Video, Hair, Make Up, Transportation, Photo booth, Venue, Officiant, Baker etc…). You may also have a million calls from family/friends needing something.
A planner is one who understands the vision of the bride and will handle all the calls from the vendors, without you being bothered. A wedding planner or day of coordinator will ensure that your make up/ hair artist has the correct time and room number to show up and slay you. We make sure that the bridal party have the date/ time of rehearsal and send group messages regarding the time and location of any meet ups.
Couples often get venue coordinator mixed up and intertwined with day of coordinator.
Your venue coordinator is not responsible for setting up your personal details such as favors, customized toasting flutes, cake cutting set, setting up your gift box, ensuring that your vendors show up on time and set up as per contract. Your venue at the end of the night will not secure your personal items and they will not ensure that the timeline is being kept, a day of coordinator/ planner will do that.
Venue coordinator is responsible for anything to do with the venue only vs the wedding planner is responsible for the day as a whole and anything that the couple may need/ also ensuring that guest are happy.
A wedding planner or at minimum a day of coordinator is 100% needed. If you have to cut something else in your budget to ensure you have a planner, it will be well worth it.
